ABOUT THE ROLE


Reporting to the Clinical Director, Addiction Services, the Clinical Manager is responsible for the recovery, treatment, outreach and clinical services located at Sister Margaret Smith Centre (SMSC), Crossroads Centre, and the Lodge on Dawson. Key responsibilities of the position include setting standards of client care, staff development and supervision; scheduling quality improvement initiatives and evaluation/ measurement; planning and controlling financials; and managing the work environment. The Clinical Manager facilitates collaboration within the teams and acts as role model, mentor and coach to all team members, toward a goal of optimizing client and staff experiences. The Clinical Manager also collaborates with the medical staff providing care within portfolio, ensuring open dialogue and medical staff input into quality improvement and service planning.

WHAT YOU BRING

 

Education/Experience:

  • Advanced educational and/or professional qualifications
  • Master’s degree or specialty certification in a related field is desirable
  • Registration in a regulated health profession preferred
  • Extensive knowledge and related work experience within the mental health and addictions field
  • Minimum five years’ progressive leadership experience Extensive knowledge and skills with quality improvement methodology
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret applicable provincial legislation and related regulations, accreditation and professional standards and practices, safety regulations, Psychosocial rehabilitation principles and related Addiction and Mental Health best practices

 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain co-operative and collaborative relations with private and public officials, co-workers, and other partners
  • Ability to identify, understand, and meet/exceed the requirements of internal and external customers
  • Ability to think and act strategically in a healthcare sector environment, including the ability to conceptualize and implement change strategies
  • Excellent project/time management, quality improvement, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to improve effectiveness and efficiency through the management and utilization of human, financial, and physical resources
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to direct, motivate, evaluate, and recognize staff
  • Proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others
  • Proven conflict management abilities and mediation skills
  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and software
  • Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
  • Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
  • Ability to work irregular hours
  • Participates as a member of the on-call management team
